Also, I really don't get the john thing! It doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me! Iit doesn't really seem to benefit any of them individually, and as a collective it just sort of reduces their numbers and keeps a threat to the alliance in longer. Also they aren't telling Elyse? She's either going to take that as an attack or brush it off and say that at least she didn't have to betray john.

Exactly! It doesn't seem to be a principle thing where they want the best and brightest in the end, because no one has been playing like that at all. John's not any kind of threat, and he's loyal and never going to screw anyone.
Really the only real reason any of these people hhave for taking out John (minus for blindsiding skupin) is to "change things up" for the sake of it. And doing that by getting rid of john is just... incredibly silly!
